G. BAND OFFICIAL FAN
CLUB,
PO BOX 315,
Newsletter for
LONDON, E.18. 2RL
August, September & October '76
Hello to you all,
I hope you are all enjoying
the hot weather, although it would be really nice, I think, if we had a
good downpour of rain.
The G Band have finished
the tour they did feeling very tired, mostly due to the hot weather, but
they send their good wishes and thanks to all of you who were able to get
to see them at a show. They said they had a great time on the whole,
but John and Harvey were very disappointed that their guitars were stolen
at Hull. Not the work of over-eager Fans, I trust looking for a memento!
Anyway, they are all looking forward to a long rest when they come back
from Paris where they are right now, working on the next single and L.P.
There are no tour dates at the moment or information on titles for the single and L.P. but if you are interested, just send in a stamped self-addressed envelope marked "INFO" and I will send what I have when I have it!
For overseas Fans, there are plans afoot for a tour of Belgium, Germany and Denmark sometime in October and if you want the information when I have it, send a self-addressed envelope, marked "INFO" and a I.R.C. to cover postage.
As you will now all know,
John Springate was married on March 27th last to Lyn Barnes (not
me as many of you thought) and they have both asked me to thank you for
all the letters, presents and messages of goodwill that came in for them.
I have at last found out who was their best man, after a few false starts,
as I was away for the weekend they were married and did not see who was
there. Well, for those who want to know, it was John's brother, who
apparently came over from Canada. I do apologize to those of you
who were sent incorrect information and I have had strong words with those
who gave it to me in the first place. O.K.? It was a white
wedding and they got married in church and I hope that is the end of that.
(Whew!)
GOOD NEWS
Mike Mingard's wife Terrie
is expecting their first baby in August (another G Band Fan).
I hope to have a new
Pen-Pal list ready for the next Newsletter due out early in
November. Some of you had already sent in details, which, when I
had an office re-shuffle, seem to have gone astray - so all those interested,
please send in your details, on a POSTCARD only, with name, age, address
and interests, and I will send you a list with the November Newsletter
(I hope).
Also, I want some good
practical ideas for the next competition and so I thought it a good
idea to get you to do the brain-work for me. So if you are good at
ideas, write that down, also on a POSTCARD, with your name, age
and address and we will pick out the best (with a small prize) and the
best idea will be used for the Christmas Competition.
Don't forget to renew
your membership when due, if you have not yet done so, for the second year.
If you know of a member who did not get a Newsletter for August/October,
ask them to check that their membership has not run out.
All the best - have a
great summer.
Lyn Stevens
Fan Club Secretary.
P.S.
Watch out for the next newsletter
as I hope to have news
of a "GLITTER" Annual, regarding publication date
and price, etc.
