Hello Everyone!
Once again it is newsletter
time and for me it seems hardly anytime at all since I wrote the last one.
I am kept very busy and a good deal of the time goes in trying to reply
to your very nice letters. I really feel that I know some of you
very well by now. You know that I will reply to your letters eventually,
so do not think that you have been forgotten.
As you know, the lads
are busy just now with the latest tour, which Mike tells me is going very
well (he was pleased to see that some of you have taken along your Fan
Club scarves to wave about). They released their latest L.P. "Rock'n'
Roll Dudes" on April 4th (just in case you didn't know...) and the latest
single was "The Tears I Cried" which most of you have bought it seems.
Gerry has been busy also, writing Gary Glitter's next single, along with
Gary, called "Love Like You and Me" which was released on April 25th.
I have not heard it, but I guess it will be great if Gerry had a hand in
it.
NEW AND BACK CATALOGUE RECORDS
I now have a contact, for Fan Club Members only, who will supply new and back catalogue records at a discount. It is:-
Ian Gray, M.J.M. Records, 30 Victoria Rd. Surbiton, Surrey.
Mention that you are
a member of this Fan Club
and quote your Fan Club membership number when you write to them.
PENPALS
I have many requests
for Pen Pals and so have decided to start a file for you. Send a
postcard only, with your name, age, address and interests and I will compile
a list to include in the next newsletter.
COMPETITION
At last I have the fabulous
glitter suits and they are just waiting to be won by six very lucky winners.
1st, 2nd and 3rd will each receive a white glitter jacket with trousers
to match. 4th, 5th and 6th, will each receive a white glitter jacket.
There will be three
runners up to the six winners and they will each receive a pair of trousers
in white.
On the next page to
see what you have to do to win a great prize.
Here is what you have to do: Answer these questions correctly.
1.
What is the title of the Glitter Band's first solo hit single hit.
2.
Who joined the Glitter band most recently.
3.
Which member of the Glitter Band fits this description:
Zodiac sign; Capricorn

Wrote "Goodbye My Love"
4.
Who do you think the girls call "cute and cuddly" in the GlitterBand
5.
Who is the tallest member of the Glitter Band.
6.

Also, after answering
the above questions, send in a poem or a drawing of the Band or of any
member of the Band, or write a few words on why you like the Glitter Band
(around fifty words).
Closing date is 23rd
June, and entries after that date will not be allowed for any
reason whatever. So do make sure that you put my correct address
down (Lyn Stevens, The Glitter band Official Fan Club, P.O. Box 315, London
E.18 2RL) put the correct stampage on the letter to me containing your
entry, and post it well in time.......
The winners will be notified by me as soon as possible and the results announced in the next newsletter so do not write in to see if you have won.

FILM
The film "Never Too Young To Rock" is to have it premier in Dublin on May20th, (not 9th as I told some of you) so it should be around in the summer - watch out for the publicity.
Loads of people have
written in asking if I can arrange for them to meet the lads after a concert,
usually as they have made something for them. Well, as I have said,
I do not have the authority to arrange this have always left it fairly
open, in the hope that it could be arranged somehow. However, there
have been so many requests that it just is not possible to fix up, and
Mike has asked me to tell you that we are all very sorry about this, especially
the Band. It just is not fair to those who do not get to see them
close to. So, all those who wrote in, even those of you who had a
letter, do not be disappointed that you cannot get to see them after all.
I am very sorry about this and do hope you will understand.
BIOGRAMS
This really only applies
to those new members who did not get a Biogram when they joined the Fan
Club recently. There was a great hold-up at the printers. You
should now find one enclosed with this letter along with me sincere apologies.
GLITTER IMAGE
Well, how about that
change of the great Glitter Image? Well, I liked the new gear and
quite a lot of members did too. The lads felt that the Fans knew
then well enough to accept the change - but now they have decided that
they quite like the glitter themselves and will probably go back to it.
I think they are fabulous either way.
LETTERs
As I did not manage to fit in the letter from John Rossall last time cos' I put in Harvey's instead, here is the one he wrote for you now.
"I want to thank all
those fans who have made the Glitter Band so successful, and I feel that
even if you give me a small part of the tremendous support you have given
The Band I can't fail in the future. At this moment I have no pans
for a Fan Club, but Lyn says she is making a note of those of you who have
asked her about this.
many thanks for the
letters of encouragement I have received. I will let her know when
I have got things together. Always Yours, - John (Rossall)"
Letter from Tony Leonard
"Hi - Lyn "collared" me when we met in the office and presented me with a long list of question which I have to answer. My real name is Anthony Leonard Woolnough, so you see where I got the Tony Leonard from and I am right handed and although I do smoke I really am trying to give it up. I do not have any pets. It is the usual thing of travelling around so much but I would like to say my favourite is the horse. I do like girls with long brown hair, well, I like most of them. I like watching "The Two Ronnies" on the tele and I prefer the countryside to the town. Chanel For Men is my fave. after shave (since you ask!). My most embarrassing moment was falling off the back of the stage during the first major tour, in E.Kilbride. No, I was quite sober at the time..... I would like to be a framer if I were not in this business - quite a difference. My fave no-alcoholic drink is Fanta. My religion in C.E. I Joined the Band around November 1973. I quite liked school and managed to get some C.S.E. subjects. Well, that was not too bad (the questions). I hope you are managing to get to see some of our concerts this tour. We are having a great time but exhausting as you can imagine. All for now, Tony Leonard"
And from me, all the best,
Lyn Stevens
