G BAND OFFICIAL FAN CLUB,
PO BOX 315,
Newsletter
LONDON, E.18. 2RL
August/October 1977
Hello Everyone!
First of all apologies for the delay in sending this newsletter, partly due to the fact that Lyn is not running the Band's Fan Club any more. It has taken some time for Lyn to hand things over and explain all the 'ins and outs' but I think we have everything sorted out now. To keep records straight, I shall be using the name 'Lyn Stevens' and hope to keep up the good work Lyn did for you. I have been gathering as much information as possible so here goes:
Renewals As you know the Band haven't been working for some weeks, and this situation will go on for some time. For this reason the Band feel that until they have definite work plans, we cannot accept renewals of Fan Club subscriptions. I am in the process of returning all the money I have received recently, but if after another two weeks you have not received any money you have sent in for your renewal, please write and tell me - don't forget to put your full name, address and membership number.
This doesn't mean that the Band are splitting up, but are 'taking a breather'. John Gerry and Pete are busy working in the studio at the moment on material which they hope to make into a new album in the New Year. In a couple of weeks or so they will be off to America to do some studio work there, so it looks as though there will be some exciting developments in the future.
In the meantime, what of Harvey and Tony? Well they are itching to do some stage work again, and are about to start a long British tour with Gary Glitter. This tour begins on the 25th September, if you would like a list of dates, please write in and send an s.a.e. By the way you will see from the Fan Club offers list that I have reduced the price of T Shirts, Rosettes, Scarves and Badges especially for this tour - you must make your presence known!
In answer to a lot of queries in your letters recently - yes Pete is buying a new house in Kent, but as yet has no marriage plans!
Competition I gather from the last 'Lyn' that the current competition is to find out your fave Glitter Band guy - well, there are piles of entries here in the office, and because of the changeover I simple haven't had time to sort them out and find a winner. Never mind, I will be doing this in time for the next newsletter - top priority!
I shall be busy for the nest few weeks catching up on the mail, answering your questions - as best I can! I hope there won't be too many delays, but know you will 'bear with me' while I get used to things. There are also a lot of orders here waiting to be sent out, so if you have sent in an order it should be with you soon. I will write to you again in November with all the news, so 'bye for now -
Lyn Stevens
Fan Club Secretary.
