G BAND OFFICIAL FAN CLUB,
PO BOX 315,
Newsletter
LONDON, E.18. 2RL
May, June, July 1977.
Hi Everyone,
Thanks to all of you
who wrote in to tell me that you had not got your May newsletter -
well, that was 'cos
one wasn't sent out and here it is now a bit late, but, as they say, "better
late than never". No, the reason for the big hold up was that I was
waiting to see the lads after their tour to sort out who was to be "President".
Well, we still are undecided;
they all would like to be President of the Fan Club but that is not possible.
I have my ideas too o the subject - best thing is to leave it for
now while I give 'em all a good talking to, and to soothe any irate members
of the Fan Club (and any who couldn't care less) here is a comp to have
a crack at.
Write down who your face G (or Glitter) Band guy is, and why.
Simple innit? Only keep it down to 250 words. I'll let you
know who wins (both sexes) next newsletter.
SINGLE
The latest single, out
on the 10th June, is called "SHE WAS ALRIGHT"
an E.P. actually.
Once the tour is over they are to work on another L.P.
TOUR
The last tour, ending
around 24th June, was very small and I know from my post that some of you
have been disappointed that they did not get near you. Well, the
lads enjoyed the tour as far as it went but as those of you know who did
go, tours are not the thing at the moment. Not just for our lads
either so I'm told.
They will be working
on material for the next L.P. as mentioned and then a few weeks holiday.
As you will be aware, things have been 'low key' for some months and this is not unusual with any group. The Band themselves are fine and like us all, keeping their fingers crosses for another good hit in the future. Compared to some of the stuff in the charts now, I cannot understand why all is so quite - so say all of us!
Someone tells me that John has sprouted a beard - this I have not seen yet! Must be quite a sight - I shall tell him to get rid of it when I do see him, nothing personal you understand - just don't like beards.
I saw Gerry in the office just before they went on tour and he looked great - no bead anyway! He said to give his love to the girls and say Hi to the lads in the Fan Club.
Harvey, Pete and Tony
are all O.K. Having spoken on the phone to Harvey recently he asked
how the fans were and they all appreciate your interest in them.
They like to read the letters when they can, and are tickled (?) by the
birthday cards and gifts.
We have had one or two
cakes too, which was a lovely thought but they tend to arrive flattened
or in crumbs which is a shame. Still, many thanks.
Anyway, for now, love
as always,
Yours quietly.
Lyn Stevens.
