NEWSLETTER NO.10

G BAND OFFICIAL FAN CLUB,
PO BOX 315,                                        Newsletter
LONDON, E.18. 2RL                            November 1976/January 1977

Dear G Band Fans,

These last two or three months have been rather quiet, as many of you have mentioned in your many letters to me.  The Band had a long holiday at first and then were in Paris working on their next L.P. and single, after which they did a tour in Germany and Scandinavia.

I am sorry that all of you who sent in s.a.e.'s for news of a British Tour, etc., did not get any info - but there was none to give at the time and I hope you got my letter to you explaining this.  Also, all those people who sent in for the new T Shirt should have had a letter from me, explaining that we had difficulty with the makers, and now await delivery - you may even have got your T Shirt by the time you get this newsletter.  I promise I am working hard on this! Anyway, I have lots of news to give you so here goes:-

TOUR DATES

The Boys are at present looking forward to another Overseas Tour which will include New Zealand, Australia and Japan.  The tour is due to start in December and the Band should be back home in England at the end of January '77.  I haven't any news of a British Tour as yet, but hope it won't be long before I can give you some definite dates.

SINGLE & L.P.

The G Band's new single, "LAY YOUR LOVE ON ME" was due for release on November 5th so watch out for it as its a great record and should be in your local record shops soon.  The Band's new L.P., "PARIS MATCH", is due to be released on the 12th November, another marvellous album from the G Band and I'm sure you will agree when you have heard it.  As you may know, the Band are no longer recording under the Bell label but are now with C.B.S.

"GLITTER" ANNUAL

This is now available to Fan Club Members - see special offers page at end of letter.

PEN-PAL LIST

This is now closed due to large number of participants, and those of you who wanted to be on the list should receive a copy with your newsletter.  If not, let me know.  Other people who want one, but whose name is not on the list, can send me a s.a.e. and I will send one on.

GERRY

To all those who have written asking whether Gerry is getting engaged, the answer is No.  Gerry has bought a new house though he hasn't let me into the secret of where it is - sorry about that!

HARVEY

For those interested in Harvey's house hunting, he tells me he hasn't moved to London yet so still has quite a lot of travelling to do.

PETE

I have also had many letters asking about Pete and Julie Dawn Cole and whether they are getting engaged.  Pete and Julie have no plans to get engaged, they are "Just Good Friends"!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mike & Terrie Mingard are now the proud parents of Michael Thomas Jnr., who weighed in at 7lbs 4oz on August 30th.  We all send our congratulations from the Fan Club.

CHRISTMAS COMPETITION

I had tons of post cards from you with some really great ideas but unfortunately a lot of you had pretty much the same idea.  The winner of the few original suggestions was:-

                           Denise Averill    Age 18
Tyne & Wear.      No. 5028    Congrats Denise.

What you have to do is send me a picture (either a poster or from a magazine or a photo) of the Band and write words that you think would suit the expression on their faces, or what you think they are thinking.  Funniest or most original wins.  NO obscene thoughts though!!  I have to show them to the Manager!  Only one entry per person and to be here by December 10th, O.K.  I am sorry I will not be able to return any entries.  Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd include "Glitter Jacket", signed L.P.'s

DAILY MIRROR POP CLUB

I have had a letter from Clifford Davies of the "Daily Mirror" about their Pop Club which sounds a good idea.  As you can imagine, the "Daily Mirror" is a vast organization with lots of resources (not like us) and can run the Pop Club free out of their profits.  If you want to know more, send s.a.e. to:-

                    Daily Mirror Pop Club (M)
                    Box 206
                    London, N.W.99. 4XA

Well, as this newsletter coincides with Christmas, I will wish you all a really happy one from me, Mike and the Band and look forward to receiving your letters, as usual., which I always try to answer.  Why not enrol a friend, you must know lots who are Fans but not yet Members.
Meanwhile, all the best to you all,

                                                    Lyn Stevens
