There
have been a few 'modern' fan clubs over the years,
none
more modern of course than the modern website/fan club
which
of course is entirely FREE, whereas in the past membership
fees
have been payable. As we venture forward with modern technology
let
us not forget the Band's very first and the original Fan Club.
In
keeping with the tradition of the 70's, the band were no
exception
in having their very own Fan Club. 'The Glitter Band'
Official
Fan Club, offered members quarterly newsletters, answers to
questions,
competitions etc. etc..
"The
Glitter Band Official Fan Club", was run alongside
"The
Gary Glitter Fan Club", and both were operated and run from within
the
Band's management offices at 'Rock Artistes Management' in
Conduit
Street London. The Fan Club secretary did not wish for her name
to
be public, and so the front name 'Lyn Stevens' was used .
Here
we reproduce all the newsletters compiled and sent out during those
hectic
days between 1974 and 1977, upon joining the fan club, members
received,
quarterly newsletters, a biogram, a membership card, and a small glossy
photo!
